Creating Employment Contract and Salary

Create an employment contract and set up salary for an employee directly from their profile.

How to Access Contract Creation

  1. Go to Employees

  2. Select the employee from the list

  3. Open the Employment tab

  4. Click Create Contract


Step 1: Basic Information

In the first step, enter basic contract information:

Start Date (required)

  • When employment begins

  • Can select dates up to 1 year in the future

Contract Number (optional)

  • Internal contract number for tracking (e.g., CNT-2025-001)

Employment Rate (Etatas) (required)

  • Employment portion from 0.01 to 1.0

  • 1.0 = Full-time (100%)

  • 0.5 = Half-time (50%)

  • 0.75 = Three-quarters (75%)

Click Continue to proceed to the next step.


Step 2: Working Hours and Salary

In the second step, set up working hours and salary.

Aggregate Accounting

Check Use Aggregate Accounting if the employee works a non-standard schedule and hours are calculated over a longer period.

Working Hours

Work Week Type (required)

  • 5-day week (40h standard) - most common choice

  • 6-day week (48h standard)

Hours Per Week (required)

  • Automatically calculated based on employment rate

  • For example: 1.0 rate × 40h = 40 hours per week

Salary

Payment Type (required)

  • Monthly salary (most common)

  • Hourly wage

  • Daily rate

Salary Amount (required)

  • Enter salary before taxes (gross)

  • Currency: EUR

Click Continue to review all information.


Step 3: Confirmation

In the final step, review all entered information:

  • Start date

  • Contract number (if entered)

  • Employment rate

  • Work week type and hours

  • Payment type and salary amount

Click Create Contract to confirm.


What Happens After Creation?

After creating the contract:

  1. The employment contract becomes active immediately

  2. Salary is automatically set

  3. Information is visible in the Employment tab


Editing and Changes

To change contract terms or salary:

  1. Open the employee's Employment tab

  2. Click Edit Contract or Change Salary

  3. Changes can be applied immediately or scheduled for a future date


Frequently Asked Questions

Can I create a contract with a future date?

Yes. The contract will be created immediately, but will only take effect from the specified start date.

Is the contract number required?

No. The contract number is an optional internal field for your organization's tracking.

What is aggregate accounting?

It's an accounting method where employee hours are calculated over a longer period (e.g., a month) instead of weekly. Used for non-standard schedules.

Can I change the salary later?

Yes. You can change the salary in the Employment tab. Changes can be applied immediately or scheduled.
