Typing Indicators
When someone is composing a message in the channel you are viewing, you will see a typing indicator at the bottom of the message area (e.g., “Anna is typing...”). If multiple people are typing, the indicator shows up to three names or a count.
Live Updates
All messages, edits, deletions, and pins update in real time for everyone in the channel. There is no need to refresh the page — changes appear automatically as they happen.
Connection Status
A small indicator in the message area header shows your connection status:
Status | Meaning |
Connected | Everything is working normally |
Connecting | Establishing a connection — messages will appear once connected |
Reconnecting | Temporarily lost connection, attempting to reconnect |
Disconnected | No active connection — check your internet |
Scrolling and Navigation
Loading Older Messages
Messages load automatically as you scroll up. The system fetches older messages in batches, so you can scroll back through the entire conversation history.
Jump to Latest
If you have scrolled up in the conversation, a Jump to latest button appears at the bottom. It shows the count of new messages received while you were scrolled up. Click it to return to the most recent messages.
Date Separators
Messages are grouped by date with visual separators showing Today, Yesterday, or the full date. This makes it easy to find messages from a specific day.
