What the Panel Shows

Channel Details

At the top of the panel, you see:

  • Channel avatar — the channel’s icon or custom image

  • Channel name

  • Channel description — if one has been set (otherwise shows "No description provided")

Members Preview

Below the channel details, a Members section shows:

  • The total number of members with access to the channel

  • A preview of the first few members (name and avatar)

  • A Show all members link to expand the full member list

Each member entry shows how they gained access:

Pinned Messages

The Pinned Messages section lists all messages that have been pinned in the channel. Each entry shows:

  • The sender’s name

  • A preview of the message text

  • The date and time it was pinned

Click any pinned message to scroll to it in the conversation. The message is briefly highlighted so you can spot it easily.

If no messages have been pinned yet, the section shows "No pinned messages yet."

Notification Preferences

A quick notification control lets you change your notification preference for the channel directly from the info panel. See the Mentions and Notifications article for details on the available levels.

Channel Settings Access

At the bottom of the panel (or via a settings button in the header), you can access the full Channel Settings dialog. This opens a multi-tab dialog with:

  • About — channel name, description, avatar, creation date, and creator

  • Settings — read-only mode, archive/unarchive options

  • Permissions — job role permissions and user overrides

  • Danger Zone — channel deletion

Note: The Settings, Permissions, and Danger Zone tabs are only visible if you have the communication:channels:manage permission.
